I was driving past a business here in the Houston Heights, when I glimpsed this painted on the side of the building. I recognized that iconic WWII poster before I realized it was not just any woman, but 14 year old Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl who was attacked for wanting an education. The words next to her are her quote, ( “I don’t mind if I have to sit on the floor at school.) All I want is education. And I’m afraid of no one.”
Long answer: IMO, it’s good in different ways. KotOR is like, classic Star Wars - clear light and dark side, epic battles, awesome characters you want to hang out with. It makes me feel the way the original trilogy does. You play a fantastic protagonist and the story is amazing every time. You feel like a hero and a badass.
KotOR 2 is great, but not like KotOR1 is. (I’m talking about patched KotOR2, with the restored content mod.) It’s shades of gray, it uses the Force in ways you don’t expect and aren’t ever discussed in the movies, the characters are dark and interesting and layered like some of the KotOR1 ones are not.
But really my favorite part about KotOR2 is everything that is revealed about KotOR1 and the Mandalorian Wars. It adds a whole new dimension to things we THOUGHT we knew. (I can go on for great lengths about the theory that Revan didn’t actually “fall” to the dark side, but I’ll spare you.)
Short answer: Yes I do. :)
KotOR2 is fantastic but PATCH IT FIRST or else you’ll be wondering around the military base on telos for hours trying to figure out how to reach the subbasement only to find out that the game was never finished and there is no subbasement, only a door to a subbasement that the developers forgot to delete the night before the release.
